H!gh Five Playground - Sensory Playground - Glasgow Park

2275 Pulaski HighwayNewark, DE 19702

A few years ago, a local parent called the county asking why no parks had fenced-in playgrounds, since her child with autism was a runner.

After realizing our region lacked a sensory playground, the county and partners designed one specially for children on the autism spectrum.

H!GH 5 PARK is just behind Glasgow Park’s main pavilion, accessible by using the park’s main entrance off Pulaski Highway (U.S 40), turning left at the T and parking on the left past the skate park.

While it is open to all kids, the playground offers sensory-friendly hours from:

  • Wednesdays     4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays          9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Features:

  • Fenced-in
  • Places to climb and balance
  • Benches
  • Restrooms nearby
  • A Music Garden
  • Walking Trails
  • Athletic Fields
  • Two Additional Playgrounds
