From swings and slides to climbing walls and water features, Wilmington parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, provide great opportunities to meet old friends and make new ones, and are FREE!

NEW CASTLE

Battery Park


This waterfront park has delighted Delawareans since colonial times. In 2023, the Battery Park Playground was updated with all new equipment. As part of Phase 2, they are now coordinating a capital project to raise money to build a ship-themed structure of accessible ramps, bridges, and slides.

Glasgow Park


At 250 acres, this park offers something for everyone: parents, dog parents, walkers, athletes, foodies, and more.

Preston's Playground


Designed for kids of all abilities, this fenced-in playground contains adaptive equipment (a merry-go-round, swings, and monkey bars), a rubber surface instead of mulch, and wide ramps leading up to various platforms.

Can-Do Playground

This playground has it all: swings, a giant sandbox, slides, musical instruments, areas for big and little kids, and plenty of places to climb.

Haynes Park

If your child is a climber, this is the park for you! Luckily, there were benches, shady paths, and beautiful trees if they ever slowed down!

Ninja Fit Playground


It is one of the rare parks where teenagers and adults can work out together. Designed by coaches and "American Ninja Warrior" competitors.

  • Eight obstacles like parkour hurdles, a spider wall, quad steps, a cargo net, a firefighter pole, various monkey bars, and other equipment.

Talley Day Park


Nestled behind the Brandywine Hundred Library, this park is home to one of New Castle County's newest playgrounds.

Delcastle Recreational Park

Delcastle Recreational Park is an athlete's dream. It contains an 18-hole golf course and driving range, a fenced-in hockey rink, softball fields, a tennis center, and fields. Plus, there are plenty of places to take a break and soak up the sun.
